LeT comdr among 3 trapped

SRINAGAR, May 23: Security forces have trapped three militants including top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander, in a village in South Kashmir district of Pulwama this evening.
A gun battle started between security forces and a group of militants at Kakpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district this evening when they laid siege to the area.
Security forces cordoned off the village after they received inputs about presence of LeT divisional commander Abu Dujana and his two associates hiding in the village.
Joint team of Army’s 55 RR, Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 183, 182 battalions cordoned of Hakirpora village this evening.
As they intensified the cordon-and-search operation and fired several warning shots towards the suspected house, militants hiding inside opened fire triggering an encounter.
The cordon around the village has been tightened and operation has been put on the hold for the night. Sources said that the operation will be resumed in the morning.
