SRINAGAR, Aug 17: React-ing to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message to Kashmiri youth “Na Goli Se, Na Gaali Se, Samasiya Hal Hogi Kashmir Ko Gale Lagane Se,” forme Minister Abdul Gani Vakil sought assurances from Prime Minister on Article 35A and Article 370 challenged in two different petitions in Supreme Court and release of innocent youth detained on charges of involvement in stone pelting.
He asked the Prime Minister Modi to replace his words “Na Goli Se, Na Gali Sey Samasiya Hal Hogi Kashmir ko Galay Laganay Se” with words “Na Chaidkhani Se, Na Jail Barney Se, Samasiya Hal Hogi Khasoosi Baat Karne Se”.
Saying that invitation to Kashmiri youth to join mainstream is a crude joke when hundreds of innocent youth are languishing in jails on charges of stone pelting. Vakil said words are not enough but Prime Minister will have to take some bold initiatives to release the detained youth and stop fiddling with Article35A and Article 370 and other provisions related to special status of the State
Vakil said that to create conducive atmosphere for embracing Kashmiri youth as committed by Prime Minister in his Independence Day speech from the ramparts of Historical Red fort. He said at even this time if Prime Minister extends assurances of Article 35A and Article 370 the youth in Kashmir can believe his words and slogans used by him to invite youth to join mainstream.
Asking Prime Minister not to get swayed away by the propaganda of the people of disintegrating tendencies linking article 370 with nationalism, Vakil said both article 370 and article 35A are not for Kashmir only but instead provide constitutional and legal safeguards to the employment and property rights of the people of all the three regions of the State equally.
Welcoming the initiatives of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on article 35A, Vakil dared her to seek support from BJP for ratification of the article 35A.
