JAMMU, Aug 17: MLA RS Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat distributed tricycles and other aids to the specially abled children studying in Government schools of his constituency.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhagat underlined the need for the public not to show compassion but to instill confidence among the specially abled. “Disability is not a curse but an accident. People, instead of showing compassion, should help them to live with self confidence,” he said assuring all assistance on approaching the office of the Legislator.
He said that the Government was extending special care and assistance to persons with disabilities. He further maintained that in the coming assembly session he will raise a strong demand to set up a separate department to take care of the persons with disabilities.
The persons with disabilities can overcome hurdles in their life if they developed self confidence, he said, adding, several persons with disabilities have achieved success in various spheres and had become source of inspiration for others.
