Leopard creates panic in Poonch

POONCH, May 30: A leopard has created panic in Poonch city after it killed two stray dogs near Bus Stand last mid night and then vanished in darkness.
The people at Bus Stand and traders of the area noticed two dead dogs brutally killed by another animals and deep wound in neck area. They got suspicious and informed police and forest staff. Later, a shopkeeper through his CCTV noticed the movement of Leopard and fight with the dogs. He showed this to the police and forest officials. The timing of the movement of this wild beast in Bus Stand area was also recorded at around 12.25 am.
Meanwhile, the senior officers in Forest Department launched search in the nearby City Forest on the other side of the Poonch river. They suspected that leopard after drinking water in the river might have barged into the city locality in search of a soft prey.
The forest and police authorities of Poonch have sounded alert in Poonch city for the general public and they have appealed the people not to move alone during late night hours. They also claimed to have launched a campaign to neutralize this wild beast which has created fresh panic in the area.
