Leh faces shortage of 42 revenue officials

Srinagar, June 4: In view of the creation of new administrative units in Leh district of Ladakh Division, Government today admitted that the district is facing a shortage of 42 revenue officials.
In a written reply to a question of MLA Nawang Rigzin Jora in Lower House, the Minister Incharge Revenue said 42 gazetted and non-gazetted posts are lying vacant in Leh district.
The Minister said the posts lying vacant include three Tehsildars; 7 Naib Tehsildars; 3 WBN; 6 Junior Stenographers; 3 Accounts Assistant; 7 Junior Assistants and 16 Patwaris.
The Minister added that the requisite man-power has been sanctioned but the same are yet to be referred to the recruiting agencies.
