LEH, Dec 8: Chairman cum Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, today strongly condemned the former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s statement over granting divisional status to Ladakh.
“Kashmir-Centric leaders cannot decide the fate of Ladakh region. Ladakh wants freedom from Kashmir and that is why Ladakh is demanding Union Territory status,” Namgyal said while addressing a gathering during Losar celebrations.
He said the statement of Mehbooba Mufti clearly showed her intention towards Ladakh.
Stating that Centre Government and people of Ladakh are with the decision of Governor Satya Pal Malik, he urged him to stand on his decision to grant divisional status to Ladakh.
