LEH, Apr 6: On the 13th day of nationwide lockdown, the District Administration Leh is continuously working towards the endeavour ‘No one should sleep empty stomach’ by providing door to door delivery of essential commodities and free distribution of food items to the migrant labourers/ daily wagers in the entire Leh district.
Tehsildar Leh Gyurmet Namgail coordinated the distribution points at Leh and adjoining areas. Free ration was distributed among migrant labourers at Leh to 692 labourers, 127 at Stok, 55 labourers at Stakna villages.
FSC&CA, Cooperative and Labour Departments of UT Administration are making effort for delivery to every migrant labourer without leaving any single soul.
Similarly, under the directions of DM Leh, SDM Khaltse Tsering Motup facilitated distribution of free ration of 122.5 kgs rice, 49 kgs pulses and 24.5 ltrs cooking oil to 49 bourers were given free ration of rice, dal and cooking oil at Skyurbuchan and Domkhar villages of Khaltse Sub-division.
In the direction towards maintaining mental health during lockdown, more than 100 laourers were given counseling on mental health and well being at FCS&CA main depot Leh. They were also told about the dos and don’ts during such times, by Clinical Psychologist SNM Hospital Leh Stanzin Tseyangs. They were also given awareness about the pandemic COVID-19.
