Assembly: House adjourned for 30 mins as Oppn creates ruckus

JAMMU : Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today witnessed noisy scenes as opposition created an uproar demanding clarification from Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on her Article 370 remarks following which the Speaker adjourned the House for 30 minutes.
As soon as the House assembled this morning, Leader of Opposition Omar Abdullah raised the issue asking the Speaker to clear the air whether the remarks were expunged or not and the Chief Minister should clear her stand.
Speaker Kavinder Gupta, however, said each party has its own agenda and intention of the Chief Minister was not wrong.
The Opposition members from National Conference and Congress created hullabaloo and rushed to the Well, shouting anti-BJP slogans. Meanwhile, one of the staff of watch and ward was also thrashed by the protesting members.
The Speaker adjourned the House for 30 minutes amid noisy scenes. Yesterday, the House was adjourned for a day.
Later, talking to reporters outside the House, Congress MLA and Leader of Congress Legislative Party Nawang Rigzin Jora said the Speaker has misled the House.
Earlier, the Speaker said he had expunged the remarks but thereafter said that he had not expunged but will examine the remarks and the Chief Minister will reply in the House, said Mr Jora.
