Legal awareness camps organized

REASI, Jan 19: In implementation of State Plan of Action 2018-19 and on the directions of State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority Reasi, under the chairmanship of Kamlesh Pandit (Pr District & Sessions Judge), organized two Legal Awareness Camps in Government Higher Secondary School, Pouni and Community Center Pouni, here today.
The camps were aimed to educate girls/women/students and general public regarding victims of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. The participants were apprised about rights of women and on Protection of Women from Domestic Violence (PWDV) Act” besides availability of the different welfare and social security schemes.
The said camp was attended by Kamlesh Pandit, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Reasi, president Bar Association M S Mir, Shalinder Bardwaj, BDO Pouni , Tehsildar Pouni , Principal, Govt Higher Secondary School, Pouni alongwith staff and a large number of students.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamlesh Pandit, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Reasi (Pr District & Sessions Judge) Reasi, made aware the gathering on the topic and the availability of the different welfare and social security schemes. Besides, he also made aware about the different scheme launched by NALSA and SLSA. On the occasion, a Legal Aid Clinic under 2nd phase of “Access to Justice” Project in J&K, was opened and inaugurated.
Among others, president, Bar Association, M S Mir, Advocate, Retainer Lawyer & Principal of the Institution also spoke on the occasion on the topics.
