Lecturers Forum seeks review of Govt order on detachments

JAMMU, Jan 20: A delegation of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum led by its State president NS Jamwal, called on Secretary School Education Nirmal Sharma and sought a review of the hasty decision taken by the Government regarding the cancellation of deployment and attachments of Plus 2 teaching fraternity.
President of the Forum explained Secretary Education about the deployment and attachment made by the Education Department earlier of those officers who have given their tenures in far flung areas especially in Kashmir Valley, Ladakh region and tough areas of Jammu region while some of them are attached on need base, medical grounds and physically handicapped.
The hasty decision taken by the Government on detachments will severely affect studies of the students at the peak of academic session and therefore the Government order needs a review, he said and demanded adjustment of all officers on merits and set norms for the smooth functioning of the Education Department for better results.
Jamwal also demanded running grade and regularization of incharge lecturers, Principals, CEOs and Joint Directors, non vacation status to the Principals, promotion of lectures, Sr Lectures and Principals as the institutions have been running shortage of teaching staff and the Head of the Institutions too.
Forum strongly demanded to create Human Resource Management Cell in School Education Department for the welfare of the teaching community.
Secretary Education gave a patience hearing and assured the delegation about the cause of concern put by the Forum that the same will be considered on priority bases.
The members, who comprised the delegation, included Charan Dass, Ashwani Kumar, Amin Khan, Bandhna Agarwal, Renu Sharma and Sadhna Sharma.
