JAMMU, Nov 28: A delegation of JK PSC Lecturers Association led by the Association president, Manjit Chib and others met Secretary School Education Department, Ram Niwas Sharma and discussed issues of career stagnation and the long-pending Assured Career Progression (ACP) along with the proposal to divert the posts of Chief Education Officers (CEOs) to the JKAS cadre.
The Secretary assured that the Department is taking concrete steps to fill the long-standing structural gaps in recruitment rules and the organisational framework of the School Education Department.
The delegation proposed adopting a seniority-cum-merit mechanism for appointing CEOs from within the highly qualified and experienced +2 Lecturers of School Education Department, asserting that this would enhance administrative efficiency, preserve institutional experience and address current gaps in higher academic administration.
The Secretary appreciated the suggestion and concluded by stating that all he expects from the teaching fraternity is sincere, efficient and student-centred work, assuring them that the responsibility for addressing larger administrative and policy issues may be confidently left to him.
Sandeep Sharma, chief coordinator, Rupali Manni, Anjali Jamwal and Sunil Kumar were also present in the delegation.
