JAMMU, May 12: Crime Branch, Jammu organized a lecture on the topic ‘Insurance frauds and its investigation’ at Conference Hall Crime Branch, here.
The main aim of the lecture was to update the Crime Branch Officers and staff members regarding unseen frauds committed in connivance with Insurance Companies/Surveyor, Broker agents by manipulating false claims.
Dr. Daleep Pandita, Sr. Divisional Manager New India Insurance Company was the guest speaker who elaborated in detail how to conduct an effective investigation to solve the frauds.
He also dwelt in length on issues pertaining to difference between Insurance cover/Insurance Policy, who can go for insurance, how insurance cover can be done in health sector, motor vehicle loss, role of IRDA, direct and indirect financial loss, manipulating in claim documents, claim amount, State and Central laws dealing with the frauds, hit and run case insurance were also highlighted by the guest speaker in his lecture.
The officers namely Kulbushan Sharma, Chief Prosecuting Officer CBJ, Rajinder Singh Katoch Additional SP CBJ, Jagbir Singh Sumbria DySP CBJ, Inspr. Zahid Saif Wani I/C Police Station Crime, Inspr. Manjeet Singh I/C Cyber Cell CBJ and all the I/O/NGOs of Crime Branch, Jammu attended the lecture and had interactive session with the guest speaker. The participating officers/officials cleared their legal doubts which they usually face while conducting investigation in the insurance frauds.
The session was presided over by Shakti Pathak, SSP Crime Branch, Jammu who emphasized the need of holding such interactions on regular intervals to update the Investigating Officers for effective investigation of insurance frauds by Crime Department so that the general public does not suffer at the hands of notorious agents, surveyors, brokers etc.
Later , he honoured the guest speaker by presenting him a memento as a token of respect and appreciation on behalf of all ranks Crime Branch, Jammu.
