JAMMU, Dec 26: The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu Local Centre organized a lecture-cum-presentation on “Contracts and Construction Law”.
The lecture was presented by Er Pankaj Sharma, Project Engineer at Techno Legal Consultant Company under the shadow of Dr Kirty Dave, a reputed Techno Legal Consultant at National and International Level. This lecture covered contracts, contract administration, introduction of construction law, breach of contract, disputes and delays, liquidated damages and extension of time, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
Dr Kumar Satinder, Associate Professor, Law Department, University of Jammu, Rohit Kapoor, Additional Advocate General, Jammu and Kashmir and Er Sunil Kumar Gandotra, Superintending Engineer (Project Manager) Economic Reconstruction Agency, Jammu graced the occasion as guest speakers.
Dr Kumar Satinder spoke on contractual law and its relevant uses, while Rohit Kapoor spoke on FIDIC Law and Er Sunil Kumar Gandotra spoke on resolution of disputes through arbitration in road construction contracts.
A large number of engineers, architects, contractors, construction managers, legal consultants and arbitrates and other organization attended the lecture.
Er Ajay Gupta, FIE; Chairman IEI Jammu Centre concluded the seminar and highlighted the importance of topics.
Er BL Rawal, MIE, Honorary Secretary conducted the proceedings of the seminar and presented the vote of thanks.
