Lecture on ‘Career Options after Graduation’ held

JAMMU, Feb 11: A lecture on “Career Options after Graduation” was organized by Career Counseling Cell, GCW Parade in collaboration with ‘Life-Long Learning Centre, University of Jammu in the college auditorium.
The objective of the programme was to enlighten students about various career options available in India and abroad.
The welcome address was presented by Dr Shivani Suri, Coordinator; Career Counseling Cell. The event commenced with interactive session by Prof Praveen Singh, HOD-CS, Commerce College. He emphasized on various career options that could be taken by students after graduation. He also talked about various schemes by UNICEF, USIF and NFP that help in empowering women in Higher Studies.
The next lecture was offered by Prof Ashok Sharma, HOD, MCA, MIET who discussed numerous career options available in defense, banking, IT and administrative services.
In the end, Prof Varun Manhas of Commerce College threw light on various job opportunities accessible for students in IT sector.
The lecture was also attended by the members of Career Counseling Cell including Prof Anju Lochan and Prof Romika Bassin.
In the end, the vote of thanks was presented by Prof Menaka Thappa.
