Lead futures up on spot demand, overseas cues

NEW DELHI, Dec 4:  Lead futures gained 0.52 per cent to Rs 126.10 per kg today on rising demand in spot markets and positive cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in current month traded higher by 65 paise, or 0.52 per cent, at Rs 126.10 per kg, with a turnover of 227 lots.
The metal for delivery in far-month January next year contract also rose by 55 paise, or 0.44 per cent, to trade at Rs 126.80 per kg, in a business turnover of five lots.
Analysts said besides strong domestic demand from battery-makers, a firm trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange on expectations of steady growth in the labour market of the US, the second-largest metals consumer influenced lead prices at futures trade here. (PTI)
