Lead futures up on spot demand, overseas cues

NEW DELHI, Nov 19:  Lead futures rose 0.44 per cent to Rs 125.25 per kg today on rising spot demand and short-covering by speculators amid a better trend in global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in current month traded higher by 55 paise, or 0.44 per cent, at Rs 125.25 per kg, with a turnover of 160 lots.
The metal for delivery in December rose by 45 paise, or 0.36 per cent, to trade at Rs 126.05 per kg in a turnover of four lots.
Marketmen said firm domestic demand, particularly from battery-makers and the metal’s strength at the London Metal Exchange, supported the upside in lead prices at futures trade here. (PTI)
