NEW DELHI, Mar 18: Lead prices edged lower by 0.88 per cent to Rs 118.55 per kg in futures trade today, after speculators reduced their exposures amid a weak trend in the entire base metals overseas and subdued spot demand.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in March shed Rs 1.05, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 118.55 per kg in business turnover of 1,594 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in April declined by Re 1, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 119.45 per kg in a turnover of 195 lots.
Market analysts a weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) and sluggish demand from battery-makers at domestic spot markets, mainly put pressure on the lead prices at futures trade. (PTI)
