KARGIL, June 28: Demanding separate invitation for scheduled talks with Government of India on July 1, Kargil branch of Ladakh Buddhist Association has said that the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) does not represent all in the district.
LBA also accused KDA of misleading Government of India and people of Ladakh by claiming to be sole representative of District Kargil.
“Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) does not represent all the communities, religious organizations, civil societies and political parties of district Kargil as claimed by them,” said the leaders of LBA, Branch Kargil, while addressing a press conference, here today
“Buddhist minority community of district Kargil from the very first day openly condemned Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) which was and still continues to support Kashmir centric People Alliance for Gupkaar Declaration for restoration of Articles 370 and 35- A and its leaders are inclined towards Kashmir centric ideology of Gupkaar Alliance,” they added.

“We the Buddhist minority community of District Kargil, which is one of the key and major stakeholder of district Kargil, would like to request Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to kindly invite us separately for the talks with Government of India, since we are not part of Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) to whom invitation for talks is already extended,” they said.
LBA leaders added that their genuine grievances must also be addressed directly by inviting their own representatives both at UT Ladakh and national forums.
The welcomed goodwill gesture of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for involving the stakeholders from UT Ladakh and inviting the Apex Body for 6th Schedule Movement from District Leh last year for talks but expressed reservation over inviting Kargil Democratic Alliance only as representative of whole district of Kargil for talks in New Delhi on July 1, 2021.
