JAMMU, Sept 19: The work in the Jammu Wing of the State High Court as well as District Court Jammu remained suspended today in protest against attack on Army personnel in Uri.
The members of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu suspended work in all the courts to show solidarity with 17 Army jawans who were killed in deadliest attack at Uri.
They, in one voice, condemned the dastardly attack on the soldiers by the heavily armed militants supported by Pakistan Army and urged the Union Government to take strong retaliatory measures to deter the neighbour from indulging in proxy war.
The Union Government was also asked to take effective diplomatic measures to isolate Pakistan in the world and get it declared a rogue nation. “Government should also seriously think about military options to teach lesson to those operating terror camps”, they said.
The Bar conveyed deep and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, Bhaderwah Bar Association also suspended routine work in protest against the Uri incident and appealed the Union Government to initiate stern action against the perpetrators of terrorism.
Bar Association Kathua and District Young Bar Association held protest demonstration at Kathua and burnt the Pakistan flag in protest against the killing of soldiers in Uri.
