LAWDA removes encroachments from Dal Lake

SRINAGAR, June 11: Continuing the anti-encroachment drive in and around the Dal Lake, the Enforcement Wing of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) today removed several illegal structures inside the lake.
The anti-encroachment drive was led by DySP Suhail Reshi, who is also the Enforcement Officer at LAWDA.
Reshi said LAWDA has launched a sustained anti-encroachment drive in and around the Dal Lake to save this heritage site from further destruction. He said the anti-encroachment drive would continue and no fresh illegal constructions would be allowed in the non-permissible areas in and around the lake.
Reshi said the fresh anti-encroachment drive is being carried out in pursuance to the directions of the High Court.
