JAMMU, May 17: Director The Law School of Jammu University Professor Arvind Jasrotia has formally sets up the ‘Literary Society’ in the department.
He delivered the introductory lecture on “Spiritualizing Life and Work”, to mark the formal launch of the society.
In his lecture, Prof Jasrotia cited various passages from the Upanishads and other sacred texts, through which he brought forth the distinction between ‘seer ‘and ‘seen ‘and how the knowledge of establishing oneself in one’s own real nature as a witness helps to unlock the inner potential of the students besides helping them in realizing their cherished goals in life while being engaged in the service to the humanity.
Assistant Professor Dr Seema Rohmetra, Convener of ‘Literary Society’ and Coordinator Gandhi Peace Foundation, Jammu Chapter presented the welcome address wherein she laid down the objectives and purpose of such societies.
She stressed upon setting up of such societies as one of the significant tools in channelising the energies of the youth towards constructive goals.
The society, she said would provide a platform for deliberations and discussions on the issues of contemporary relevance.
In the end, Dr Seema Sharma, Senior Assistant Professor presented the vote of thanks.
The entire faculty of the department was present during the event, while the proceedings of the event were conducted by Rahul Agarwal, a student of The Law School.
