RAJOURI, Feb 19: The last batch of 15 patients hailing from Badhaal village belonging to the primary families who were the first victim of the so called `mysterious illness’ were discharged from GMC Rajouri today.
Most of these members belong to the families of Mohd Fazal, Mohd Aslam and Nizamuddin. They were under observation in GMC Rajouri. They were discharged from Government Medical College Hospital Rajouri after they were declared physically fit by the team of doctors thus, bringing an end to the physical and the emotional trauma, these people have faced during last two long months.
MLA Rajouri Iftikhar Chaudhary, Principal Medical College Dr A S Bhatia, Medical Superintendent Dr Shamim Ahmed and other senior doctors and heads of the different departments were present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention that all this started in the first week of December when Fazal and his children fell seriously ill and lost their life. After that again the same illness struck the families of Mohammad Rafiq and subsequently Mohammad Aslam.
Before sending them home, detailed counseling of all the persons was done by the doctors of GMC Rajouri whereby instructions were given about the precautions to be taken in future.
Speaking on the occasion MLA Rajouri Iftikhar Chaudhary expressed his satisfaction on the way these persons were treated in the hospital and appreciated Principal GMC Rajouri and his team of doctors for their extra efforts in saving these precious lives. He further disclosed that he has allotted advanced life support ambulance for GMC Rajouri which will be made available soon and also informed that he along with MLA Muzaffer Khan and MLA Javed Chaudhary had taken up the matter for upgradation of diagnostic services including installation of MRI and Cath Lab with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
