Large number of devotees pay obeisance to Swami Mirzakak

JAMMU, May 6: Large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the Nagrota Asthapan of Swami Mirzakak popularly known as Kak Sahib from early in the morning to participate in the 185th annual Jag of this spiritual saint of medieval Kashmir.
A Mahayagya was solemnized on the occasion by Swami Mirzakak Trust Hangalgund with full religious fervour and gaiety and the devotees were served with Prashad after Puranahuti.
The function started with Kalash Pooja yesterday evening. The devotees paid their obeisance to the spiritual saint whose Samadhi is situated at village Hangalgund in South Kashmir district of Anantnag.
The devotees prayed for peace and prosperity of the country. A special pooja was performed by the devotees on the Asthapan. Besides the Vaakh of Swami Ji were also recited by Arjan Nath Hangloo and Durga Nath Hangloo on the occasion.
Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram gave religious discourses and threw light on the life and teachings of this great mystic saint of Kashmir.
The speakers recalled the role of Swami Mirzakak in ousting the tyrant Pathan rulers from Valley through his spiritual power. They said his Vaakhs are a treasure of knowledge and teachings. The function was held under the supervision of Trust president Bushan Lal Hangloo and general secretary Avtar Krishan Raina.
The devotees also paid tributes to Sham Lal Koul a member of the Trust who breathed his last recently.
The annual Jag of Swami Ji was also performed at Swami Ji’s Samadhi at Hangalgund where a large number of devotees from migrant camp Vessu and Mattan participated in the function.
