Lambardar suspended

KISHTWAR, Apr 22: While taking serious note of the dereliction of duties in providing timely information and fostering the social distancing protocol during the COVID-19 lockdown, District Development Commis-sioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara today placed Lambardar Cherji under suspension.
The action was taken under Rule -10 of J&K Lambardari Act1980 on the basis of report received from Tehsildar Kishtwar who has reported that a marriage ceremony took place on 19th April 2020 in Halqa Cherji without obtaining any permission from the competent authorities in gross violations of the guidelines issued for social distancing.
Lambardar Halqa Cherji has failed to report to the administration regarding the said marriage which is failure on the part of Lambardar to render assistance to the Government and willfully defiance of the Lambardar to perform his legitimate duties has been observed at a time when the Government has already issued the directions to maintaining the social distance and other protocols in the society under various provisions of disaster management act 2005 and Epidemic Disease act 1897.
Moreover, Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramood Kumar has been appointed as enquiry officer in the matter and he has been directed to submit the detail factual report within two weeks positively with specific recommendation. He has also been directed to assign the charge of the Lamberdar Cherji to adjoining suitable Namberdar till further orders.
