UDHAMPUR: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh today conducted an extensive tour of Ramnagar and launched a plantation drive by planting various saplings at Town hall.
MLA Ramnagar, R.S Pathania, DDC Niraj Kumar and CCF Jammu Farooq Geelani were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the importance of forests in our day to day life. He stressed on the role of trees in maintaining balance in nature.
The Minister emphasized the need of raising massive awareness about the significance of conserving green wealth for survival of mankind. He appealed the people to extend cooperation in promotion of plantation drives for good of the community.
MLA Ramnagar, on the occasion, apprised the Minister of various developmental issues pertaining to his constituency.
Earlier, the Minister was given a warm welcome by the people of Ramnagar.
Later, several deputations met the Minister and put forth their demands and problems.
Director SFRI B.M Sharma, Director Social Forestry A.K Gupta, Regional Director Pollution Control Board Showkat Choudhary besides all district and forest officers accompanied the Minister.
