JAMMU, Mar 15: Minister for Health and Medical Education and ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh today inspected the Government Ranbir Press and took stock of its functioning.
General Manager, Government Ranbir Press, Farhat Hussain Qadri besides Manager, Assistant Manager and foremen and other technical experts of the press were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the Minister interacted with the employees and enquired about their grievances. He was apprised about the working of the press and quantum of work load with regard to printing for all Government departments including Assembly material.
The Minister inspected various administrative sections of the press which included printing section, Binding Section, DTP Section, Reading Section, Urdu DTP Section, Camera/plate making section, book depot, store, reading section etc.
Ch Lal Singh directed to ensure timely printing of Assembly and Budget Session material and maintaining of proper log books. He also directed for auctioning of non-functional machines.
The Minister stressed on modernization and automation of the Press by adding latest technology especially in the binding section which is still manually operated and in this regard asked for preparing a DPR.
Ch Lal Singh on the occasion assured the staff that grievances put forth by them will be looked into and steps will be taken to address these.
