KATHUA, Sept 15: Member Parliament (MP), Ch Lal Singh today inspected pace of progress on under execution development works in Dhanore and Dhanni villages which included Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and PWD roads, besides lying of crates, restoration work of power and water supply .
Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua Ajay Jamwal besides XEn PDD, Irrigation, PMGSY Flood Control Tehsildar Aagarian , BDO, Kathua accompanied the Member Parliament.
In village Dhannore, MP inspected the work on PMGSY road and directed the Executive Engineer to complete the protection wall and laying of crates on the side of the road immediately and ensure use of quality material. He also directed the PDD and PHE functionaries to restore proper and drinking water supply to the areas affected by recent rains.
The representatives of the twin villages putforth their demands which included better road connectivity, repairs of lanes and drains, provision for laying crates along local nallah, dearth of teaching staff, speeding up MNERGA works. They also complained about low voltage and long curtailment of power in the area.
Member Parliament gave a patient hearing and assured that their demands and problems would be mitigated on priority.
Responding to demands, MP directed the XEn PDD to change the curtailment schedule immediately.
He also directed the Rural Development Department to start the construction of lanes and drains under MENGRA, while Flood Control Department was asked to complete the laying of crates along the local nallah immediately.
The MP also inspected the site for the construction of Panchyats Ghar building in village Dhannore and directed the concerned department to start the work immediately.
