JAMMU, Mar 9: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh today dedicated the newly constructed Psychiatric Hospital building to the people.
The 102-bedded hospital completed at a cost of Rs 17.59 crore has outdoor patient facility, laboratory, dispensary, occupational therapy unit, health and education, ECT, ICU, and other allied facilities such as meeting hall, social workers/counseling hall, store, drug store, isolation room, special room and toilet blocks.,
Member Legislative Assembly Sat Pal Sharma, Principal Government Medical College, Jammu Dr. Ghanshyam Gupta, Director Health Services, Jammu Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Project Director AIDS Control Society Dr. Mohan Singh, Medical Superintendent Psychiatry Disease Hospita Dr. Osmani besides Head of Departments, Medical Superintendents, medical and paramedical staff members were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Minister exhorted upon the medicos and paramedicos to work with dedication to provide quality medicare to the patients. He said that the professional ethics should be strictly adhered to and asked doctors to render the public service with highest degree of responsibility and commitment towards the society.
Mr Singh stressed on punctuality in the hospitals and warned that any connivance with private hospitals will be dealt sternly.
Ch Lal Singh said that health has been flagged as priority sector and concerted efforts are under way to open new health centers in far-off and remote areas of the State to improve healthcare system.
