LAHDC to project Trisha-Thoise as National Project

LEH, Feb 16: LAHDC is taking a great stride to project 24 MW Trisha-Thoise Multipurpose Micro Hydel Project over Saichen River, Nubra as a national project.
To device a viable DPR for this project, a meeting of all the stakeholders was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh, Gyal P. Wangyal.
Speaking in the meeting, Xen PDC Leh, Shiv Kumar gave detail power point presentation of Trisha-Thoise Project highlighting the silent features of this mega project including dam, 13 km tunnel connecting Thoise and underground power house.
He also highlighted other major proposed projects like overhead water tank for drinking water supply, water filtration plant, irrigation channels, barrage, protection wall and bridges which will make this project a multipurpose one.
MLC, Chering Dorjey urged upon all the concerned departments to give their data working on the cost benefit ratio so that a viable DPR for the project could be prepared timely.
Dy. Chairman and EC Health directed HODs of Tourism, PHE, I&FC, DIHAR and other stakeholder to submit their data by Feb 22.
In the meantime, discussions on Phey lift irrigation and drinking water schemes project prepared by JK PDC, which is to be funded by Solar Energy Corporation of India under their CSR scheme while executing the proposed 50 MW Solar Power Project at Phey Thang was held.
Discussion on present state of 12 MW Rongdo project and pending hydel project of Domkhar was also held.
The meeting also observed one minute silence to pay homage to the CRPF personnel who laid down their lives for the nation at Pulwama.
