LEH, July 23: In a significant development LAHDC today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ladakh Ecological Development and environmental Group (LEDeG).
As per the MoU, four major pilot projects will be implemented in urban area of Leh including pilot project for integrated 24×7 decentralized water and sanitation project, demonstration of improvised model of community based Ladakhi Toilet, Integrated water, sanitation and hygiene centre for Municipal sanitation workers and multiple community stand post based water supply system in Leh.
CEC LAHDC Leh Gyal P Wangyal and Executive Director LEDeG Ishey Tundup signed the documents in presence of ADC Leh Dr Zahida Bano, Lobzang Nantyak Counicllor Upper Leh, Asma Yousuf Project Manager BORDA and Tashi Lundup Documentation and Publication LEDeG.
Director LEDeG Ishey Tundup briefing meeting about the aim and objectives of the pilot projects and said that funded by BORDA, LEDeG will target to complete these projects in next three months and based on the success of these projects, similar projects will be proposed for coming years. He requested CEC to ensure full support and cooperation from concerned Government agencies in timely implementation of the projects.
CEC Wangyal and Counicllor Upper Leh Lobzang Nantyak hoped that such important projects will go a long way in improving and solving water, sanitation and toilet facility problems in Ladakh.
