JAMMU, May 19: Akhnoor police worked out the murder case of an ex-serviceman with the arrest of a lady and her paramour.
This was stated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Shridhar Patil while interacting with media persons.
Divulging the details, SSP informed that on May 3 this year, an information through reliable sources was received at Police Station that dead body of one ex-serviceman Chanchal Singh alias Kali, son of Kartar Singh of Tarodian, Nardi Bala is lying at his home under suspicious circumstances (apparently a suicide) and subsequently an inquest proceeding was initiated.
SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma and SHO Police Station Akhnoor Inspector Pardeep Sharma along with enquiry officer visited scene of crime and after smelling a foul play in the death of the ex-serviceman, rounded a suspect namely Rakesh Kumar alias Bitta, son of Girdhari Lal of Tarodian, Nardi Bala, SSP informed.
SSP said that the wife of the deceased namely Joginder Kour alias Rinku was also put to sustained questioning and during professional interrogation, it came out that Rakesh Kumar and Joginder Kour had develop illicit relationship for the last four to five years, adding that when Chanchal Singh came to know about this illicit relationship, he objected and had altercation with Rakesh Kumar alias Bitta several times in past.
“In 2018, Rakesh Kumar alias Bitta attacked the deceased and a case under FIR Number 84/2018 under Sections 452, 323 and 382 IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor which is still under trial”, SSP said, adding that further working professionally, Akhnoor Police established that it was actually a well planed conspiracy hatched by Rakesh Kumar and Joginder Kour to eliminate the deceased Chanchal Singh.
SSP further informed that during the intervening night of May 2nd and 3rd, Rakesh Kumar in connivance with Joginder Kour entered the house of deceased, overpowered him and forcefully gave poison (insecticide make sacwan) with a motive to kill him and carry on with their illicit relationship with Joginder Kour.
“Yesterday, the inquest proceeding was converted and a case under FIR Number 62/2020 under Section 302 and 34 IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and accused persons namely Joginder Kour and Rakesh Kumar were arrested”, SSP stated.
The smart application of mind, technology and ground corroboration of trail of events led to solving of the blind cold blooded murder mystery by Akhnoor Police led by SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma, SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pardeep Sharma and their team.
The whole exercise was made under the guidance of SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
