JAMMU, May 14: A lady chain snatcher was today caught red-handed and arrested in Bakshi Nagar area of the winter capital.
Police spokesman said that, 25-year-old Pooja, a resident of Kerala, at present living in Sangam Vihar, New Delhi was caught red handed by the flying squad team at Maheshpura in Bakshi Nagar area when she snatched a gold chain of an old lady namely Ganesh Kumari of district Udhampur.
He said the lady snatcher was about to escape from the spot but the victim raised an alarm following which, flying squad team acted swiftly and arrested her.
A case under FIR number 64/13 under Section 382 of RPC has been registered at Bakshi Nagar police station and investigations are in progress.
