JAMMU, May 8: Students of Ladakh today held a protest demonstration against Government and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for their alleged failure in preventing the artificial lake burst in Zanskar.
Carrying placards, the protesting students raised slogans against the NDMA and Government. They alleged that had the concerned authorities taken appropriate steps, damage to the public as well as private property could have been avoided.
The protesting students also appealed the Central Government to provide immediate relief to the affected people and ensure reconstruction of the damaged bridges as well as other structures.
These students also demanded emergency measures to ensure that studies are not affected to due damage to school buildings and bridges.
