JAMMU, May 8: Various educational institutions celebrated Mother’s Day with zeal and fervour.
KC International School celebrated Mother’s Day. Various activities were conducted in different wings of the school. Games like string the pearls, and ‘Guess the celebrity’s mother’ were organized for the mother in which they participated enthusiastically. ‘Star of the week’ a new concept was also introduced where in a student is selected as the star of the week. The child’s parents were felicitated and a scroll of honor was given to the parent. The mother’s of the middle and senior wing participated in rangoli making, flower decoration, singing, etc. Prizes were given to the winners by Principal, Maya Mishra and Vice Principal, Isaac Daniel. Randeep Wazir, Middle School co-ordinator organized the competition. Kesar Patel, Headmistress presented vote of thanks.
Delhi Public School, Jammu organized a series of events to celebrate Mother’s Day. A special assembly was held wherein students shared inspiring thoughts and speeches praising the valuable love of a mother. The soulful rendition of the song “Teri Aradhana Karun”, sung by the school choir left the audience spell bound. The Additional Director/Principal Dr D Joseph in her address bestowed her motherly blessings on the students and staff. Also present on this occasion was Ruchi Chabra, Headmistress, DPS Jammu and senior Coordinators. A story writing activity for classes IX to XII was also organized, wherein students enthusiastically gave vent to their feelings and creative expressions. Students of ‘Prayas—a try’, a social group of the school accompanied by Manpreet, Jacob Mattoo and Daniel visited Home for Old and Infirm, Ambphala and celebrated Mothers Day. They presented cultural items. Headmistress, DPS Jammu Ruchi Chabra encouraged them to continue with such noble efforts in future also.
MV International School celebrated Mothers Day. A special assembly was organised in the school in which students presented a talk, heart touching poems in English and Hindi and a beautiful song was presented by the choir of Newton House. Principal of the school threw light on the importance of the day. Prep-Wing students prepared special cards for their mothers to show their love for them. Prep Wing also organized ‘Show and Tell Competition’ in which children participated enthusiastically. Director Prep Aakriti Abrol, Chairman Hira Lal Abrol and Director were also present on the occasion.
The children of Peepal Tree School made their mother’s feel special by holding function in the school premises, where they honoured their mom’s for taking care of them, holding and nurturing them and providing them the proper environment where they can have an opportunity to grow in a positive manner. The mother’s played games with kids and story telling sessions were also held. Craft work, preparing flowerpots and coloring worksheets, reciting poems were the some of the activities which marked the occasion. Trustee Aakash Singh highlighted the importance of the day.
To commemorate Mother’s day, Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School organized a card making competition, in which students from primary wing participated. Mehak Gupta, Namita Vaid and Nandita Saini emerged winner in the competition. Students presented various cultural items. Principal Rameshwar Mengi threw light on the importance of the day.
International Mothers Day was celebrated at Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public Higher Secondary School Kunjwani. Students showed their love and affection for their Mothers by presenting colourful programmes. A group song by class 10th students touched everyone’s heart. Principal Gurtaj Singh and Administrator Charanjeet Kour addressed the students. On the occasion a painting competition was also organised under the Theme “My Mother” in which students from 3rd to 8th class participated. In the end all the participants were given merit certificates for their outstanding performance.
A function was organized in the premises of TS Public School to celebrate Mother’s Day. Teachers described mothers love, her gentle touch and caring attitude towards her children as lifeline of their life. Teachers stressed on doing something special for moms’ everyday and to bring smile in their faces the program continued with card making. The blossoms of the school made creative and colorful cards to show their love for their mothers.
A function was organized by Kartar Public School Barnoti on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Manjula Dogra Principal KPS welcomed the mothers on the occasion. Students from Pre-Nursery to Senior KG participated in different events. Manpreet Kour, Student of class 10th presented a heart touching and emotional song on mothers. Mothers of the students also participated in various activities like musical chair, super mom contest and best singer. Er. Nirmaljit Singh Amn, Chairman Kartar Educational Trust apprised students about the importance of day. Harpreet Kour, Secretary KPS presented vote of thanks.
JK Montessorie School and its affiliated Unit JK Little Millennium Pre-School celebrated “Mother’s Day”. Various cultural and recreational activities including Group action song, stage drama “Always respect to your Mother”, activity sheets and coloring on portraits of Mothers by tiny toddlers, speeches and poems were presented by the students. The whole programme conducted by Navjyot Kour and Jyoti Chib Incharge, Co-curricular activities. Director Academics Rajni Gupta and Vice Principal Geeta Dixit threw light on the importance of the day.
Mother’s Day was celebrated at Mother’s Pride and Joy Pre-Primary School. Children made cards and badges for their mothers and also spoke on why and how much they love their mothers.
Stepping Stone—A Fun School celebrated Mother’s Day. Kids prepared photo frames of their mothers with the help of teachers under the supervision of Geetika Sharma and Sunita Devi, Wing Incharge. Students of Nursery, LKG and UKG presented group songs and danced on the tunes of songs. Director Vikash Kumar Sharma and Principal Anjali Sharma were also present.
Sprawling Buds School, Laxmipuram, Bantalab celebrated Mother’s Day by organizing various competitions. The programme commenced with a special assembly in which students presented a skit on the love between a mother and a child. It was followed by a heart touching song presented by the students of classes 1st to 5th showing their love and gratitude towards mothers. Puja Sharma, Principal of the school threw light on the role of the mother. Later, card making, photo-frame making, collage making and bouquet making competitions were organized. In card making competition, Samridhi Kotwal, Pranjal and Prince emerged winners, whileas in photo-frame making competition, Bhavesh, Keshvi and Sariba emerged winners. In collage making competition, Asma Gul, Vanshika and Harshdev emerged winners and in bouquet making competition, Mandeep, Sanyam Bhat and Arun Dev Singh claimed top three positions.
Madhuvan Kids Playway celebrated Mother’s Day. Children made cards for their mothers with the help of teachers. They danced and presented speeches on their mothers’ greatness. Principal Amrit Choudhary was also present.
Tiny Boo Boo’s Pre School, Trikuta Nagar celebrated Mother’s Day. Principals Maggi Gupta and Vanita Kohli threw light on the importance of the day. Later, sweets were distributed among the students.
On the day of International Mother’s Day, RR Resort Samba J&K paid tributes tp Martyrs Hoshiar Singh and Shashi Bala, who sacrificed their lives for an alternate politics. A one day “Samvad” on the agenda of an alternate political and economical model at Samba was organized by Swaraj Abhiyan. Leader Swaraj Abhiyan Yogendera Yadav was the main speaker. The organizing committee members were ID Khajuria, Bilal Khan, Inderjeet Singh, BL Kandley, Dharmpal Sharma, Rohit Kumar, Advocate Ishfaq, Advocate Zulkarn and Narinder Khajuria.
