LEH, Mar 9: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier BD Mishra (Retd) today held a meeting with the Administrative Secretaries to review the progress of development works in their respective departments and to discuss future work targets, at Raj Niwas.
During the meeting, the LG emphasized the importance of ensuring the progress of their respective departments for the well-being of the people of Ladakh and the overall development of the region.
He also stressed the need for continuous meetings of Administrative Secretaries to address issues faced by the people of Ladakh.
He instructed the Secretaries to take suo moto action in the overall interest and benefit of the people of Ladakh. The Lieutenant Governor also inquired about various issues and demands of the people of Ladakh, including funding for the Haj Committee of Ladakh, the activation of the grievance redressal cell in Ladakh, relaxation in norms for the recruitment of teachers, and recruitment of Associate Professors in University of Ladakh.
He also urged the Administrative Secretaries and concerned officials to maintain transparency, accountability, probity, equal dispensation, self-audit, and mid-course correction while carrying out their duties to ensure the welfare and development of Ladakh.
He also informed the departmental Secretaries about his plan to constitute an Immediate Assistance Cell comprising representatives from Hill Council Leh and Kargil, Army, Police, Air Force, and the concerned stakeholders and hold meetings at regular intervals to address the issues faced by the people of Ladakh.
During the meeting, the departmental secretaries and concerned officials informed the LG about the pending works in their departments, the issues they were facing, and the timeline in which the works are expected to be completed.
Advisor Umang Narula, Principal Secretaries Dr Pawan Kotwal, Sanjeev Khirwar, Additional Director General of Police Satish Khandare, Commissioner Secretary Ajeet Kumar Sahu among other senior officers attended the meeting with the LG.
