LADAKH, Aug 24: The Union Territory Administration of Ladakh has launched and started a web portal namely RTI online to facilitate the citizens in filling RTI applications and First Appeals online.
As per an order, the web portal shall be managed and supervised by General Administration Department.
“An RTI cell with officers Sonam Chhosdon, Deputy Secretary and Mohammad Shafi, Junior Assistant, GAD, has also been constituted accordingly,” said the order.
The RTI cell and the portal shall be serviced by the Accounts Wing of the GAD.
All the Public Information Officers (PIOs) and First Appellate Authorities (FAAs) have been directed to ensure disposal of RTI application filed through online mode on this portal in a time bound manner as per the timeline prescribed under Acts and Rules.
The Account Wing of the GAD has also been asked to supervise and maintain the online fee receipts and ensure its timely transfer to relevant head.
Meanwhile, it has been stated in the order that a technical support team shall be set up by GAD for maintenance, hosting, and other IT support for smooth operation and running of the portal by using the manpower already hired on outsourcing.
“NIC Ladakh shall provide all required support to GAD in technical matters,” said the order.
