Labourer killed, six injured in mishaps

UDHAMPUR, Feb 26: A labourer was killed while six others were injured in different mishaps.
As per reports, a labourer identified as Sajjad Ahmed, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, resident of Lehri, Dandal, district Doda, engaged in road construction work at Surni, tehsil Ramnagar was seriously injured, when a boulder fell on him.
He was shifted to nearby PHC, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The body was handed over to family members after completion of legal formalities, while Police has taken the cognizance.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured, when the motorcycle they were riding on slipped near Darsoo.
The injured persons identified as Yash Pal, son of Rattan Lal and Trilochan, son of Ragupati, both residents of Ramnagar were shifted to District Hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable, when last reports poured in.
A case has been registered and investigation started.
In another incident, four persons including three women were injured, when the tempo traveler they were traveling in, skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge near Bali nallah.
The tempo trveller bearing registration number JKO2AN-6269, was on its way to Jammu from Doda, when the driver lost control over the vehicle, resulting into accident and causing injuries to four persons.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot, started rescue operation and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital, where they were responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
The injured have been identified as Indra Devi, wife of Bishan Lal, Sunitra Devi, wife of Kamal Kant and Asha Devi, wife of Shakti, all resident of Bhaderwah and Amit Thakur, son of Daya Krishan of Doda.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
