Labour unions form conglomerate to struggle for workers rights

JAMMU, July 28: To launch a protracted struggle for improving the living standard of working class in the State, various labour unions have joined hands to form Jammu And Kashmir Labour Awami Movement (JKLAM)to fight for the workers rights.
This was announced at a joint press conference here, today by Kuldeep Chalotra president of the newly formulated conglomerate. He said various labour unions of the State through a resolution on April 26 this year had decided to work under one umbrella for the cause of working class in the State and form a conglomerate under the name and style of JKLAM.
He said the need of hour is to work on one platform for the cause of labour class in the State whose sufferings are increasing day by day. He said it is a pity that after the 70 years of independence the living standard of labour class has not improved and the sufferings of these people are increasing day by day.
He said the JKLAM will work for the betterment of this class of people and improving their living standard by launching a protracted struggle for their rights. In this regard a mass movement will be launched in the entire State, he added.
Shashi, Nar Singh, Ram Bachan Rao, Chuni Lal, Bishambar Dass,  Tarseem Manhas and others were present in the press conference.
He said the labour unions which joined the conglomerate included Banihal Construction Works Union, Dogra Labour Union, Mazdoor Dastkar Union Jammu, All J&K Joint Workers and Labour Union, J&K Awami Labour Movement, Mazdoor Mistri Workers Union, Jammu, Handicraft Workers Union, Kashmir, Samidhan NGO Jammu, General Labours and other Construction Workers  Trade Union Baramulla, Marbal Union, Jammu, State Centre Union Jammu, Auto Repair Workers Union Jammu, Boot/ Chappan Leather Union Jammu, Workshop Union Jammu, Industries State Workers Jammu, Veterans India (Forum For All India Ex-Servicemen).
