JAMMU, Feb 6: The Legislative Assembly will shortly launch an official website in a bid to facilitate easy accesses to house business and overall working of the Assembly Secretariat to the legislators and general public.
Chairing a meeting with the representatives of the software providing companies, here today Speaker, Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul said that the move is being taken to improve the dissemination of information about the Assembly functioning in general and to facilitate quick accesses to the House Members about the response of Government to the Questions, Call Attention Motions, Cut motions and other issues raised by them when the house is in session.
He said that the online facility would help in saving time and reducing paperwork involved in the exercise, besides enforcing in transparency in the system.
Meanwhile, Speaker directed the Tourism Department to submit a revised and comprehensive project report for the beautification of Eidgah Srinagar covering all the works to be executed by different departments.
Tourism Department, the Nodal Agency for the implementation of the Beatification Project, was asked to incorporate the DPRs of other departments and submit a consolidated report to the Planning and Development Department for consideration and sanction of funds.
Chairing a high level meeting, convened to review the pace of progress on the developmental works being executed by different agencies, Gul asked the concerned to maintain close coordination to ensure early completion of the project.
Minister for Planning and Employment Ajay Sadhotra was also present in the meeting.
Threadbare discussion was held on eviction of encroachments, release of funds, progress on drainage and sewerage works, construction of two main gates, Eidgah Park, playground and engagement of adequate manpower for proper maintenance of park and the playground.
The speaker asked the Waqf authorities to handover the park and playground to Tourism Department for maintenance in the future.
Minister for Planning asked the officers to submit the consolidated proposal of funds required for the development of Eidgah immediately. He assured them that the funds would be provided in this regard.
