LA adopts four motions on last day of session

SRINAGAR, Oct 9: The Legislative Assembly today adopted four motions for extension of time for presentation of Reports of different Committees on Chief of the Army (COA) General V K Singh’s revelation issue till next session with voice vote.

These include, the Report of the Select Committee on ‘the Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious Places (Management and Regulation) Bill, the Report of the Joint Select Committee on ‘The Jammu and Kashmir Prohibition of Conversion of Agricultural Land for Non-Agricultural purposes Bill, the Report of the Select Committee on ‘The Jammu and Kashmir private Security Agencies (Regulation) Bill, and the Report of the House Committee’

To ascertain the factual position regarding the illegal encroachment of Wet Lands for its conversion for residential purposes in Srinagar, Baramulla and Bandipora Districts and conversion of Agricultural and Kahcharai land for residential and commercial purposes with particular reference to Shalteng and its adjoining areas within 10 KM radius whether falling within the Administrative jurisdiction of Srinagar, Baramullah or Bandipora Districts.

The motions were moved by state Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Saifullah and Hakeem Mohammad Yasin amidst slogan shouting in the house. (AGENCIES)
