RAJOURI, May 29: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) under the aegis of Directorate of Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised an in-service training programme on “Recent Advances in Farm Machinery” for officers of the line department.
Dr Sanjay Khar, programme coordinator, KVK, presented the welcome address and stressed upon the use of improved tools and implements especially designed for the hilly regions for attaining self sufficiency in agriculture.
Dr Punit Choudhary, SMS, Agroforestry, KVK, in his address briefed the participants about the importance of farm mechanization for achieving higher productivity and profitability of agriculture.
Later AK Sinha, SMS, Agriculture Engineering, deliberated on the scope of improved farm implements for agriculture operations, in which the participants were made aware of latest implements and machines available with KVK for carrying out different agriculture operations.
The programme was conducted by Amit Mahajan, programme assistant, Trainings and Tariq Hussain, Computer Assistant, KVK, whereas Dr Manoj Kumar, SMS, Horticulture, presented vote of thanks.
