Srinagar, Jan 10: The J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) today established a Women Grievance Cell which has been tasked to ensure action in the complaints received from KVIB’s female employees.
VC-KVIB Dr Hina Shafi Bhat told Excelsior that the step has been taken to create a conducive working environment for the women employees at KVIB.
“In the present times, women are working in every department and if we talk of women empowerment, then there should be a grievance cell, where these female employees can come up and lodge their complaints,” she said.
She said that women employees are harassed, exploited everywhere, “we don’t want such things in KVIB and by setting up a Women Grievance Cell, we are setting an example in the way of empowering the women,” she said.
Dr Hina said that the Grievance cell which has been established will have senior women officers who will address the complaints received. “We will ensure action if a complaint is lodged against any employee,” she said.
