Kurt Russell roped in for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2’

LOS ANGELES, Feb 18:  Director James Gunn has announced Kurt Russell is set to join the galactic ragtag in the upcoming second installment of “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
The director announced on Facebook.
“My favourite movie as a small child was The Strongest Man in the World, so I’m glad to announce that, yes, Kurt Russell has joined our cast and, yes, he is more awesome a dude than I ever could have imagined.”
When asked on Twitter if “The Hateful Eight” actor would play Peter Quill’s dad named J’Son, the filmmaker responded, “There is no J’Son in the MCU (unless, in the future, that’s the name Moon Knight’s stoner neighbor gives himself).”
Russell will join three other new cast Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan.
“I never thought anyone was missing from our island of misfit toys, but now that these folks are here there feels like there was,” Gunn added on Facebook before later confirming on Twitter that Klementieff would play Mantis. (PTI)
