Kunwar Viyogi Trust organizes Dogri poetry recitation competition

JAMMU, Sept 6: Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust in association with Department of Dogri, organized “Irshaad”, a Dogri poetry recitation competition at Dogri Department of Jammu University, here today.
In the competition, more than 100 students took part and displayed their talent in rich Dogri language.  Opening address was delivered by  Sushma Sharma, HoD Dogri JU,  who briefed students and jury about the competition. Prof  Archana Kesar, Department of Dogri, threw a light on the importance of promoting  Dogri language and literature in present era.
Prominent Dogri writer Narsingh Dev Jamwal was the chief guest and jury of the competition. He  also recited his well acclaimed Dogri poetry at the function.
Out of all the participating students, three students were selected at the top who will be awarded tomorrow at “Chetene Di Lari” by Prof  R D Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Jammu University and Poonam Singh Jamwal, founder, Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust at Jammu University.
The poetry recitation competition was organized one day prior to annual  Kunwar Viyogi Utsav 2017, which is to be held at Jammu University on  September 7, 2017.
