JAMMU, Nov 14: The Committee on Petitions of Legislative Council met here today under the chairmanship of B R Kundal and discussed several important issues.
In the meeting, the Committee desired to publish for the general information that the Committee on Petitions is a forum where general public can come up except Government employees/sub-judice with petitions on any matter of general public interest and for redressal of any grievance.
A threadbare discussion was held on several public interest issues during the meeting and some decisions were also taken.
The meeting was attended by members of the Committee namely Nizam-ud-Din Khatana, Master Noor Hussain, MLCs and Council Secretariat officers, Deputy Secretary, Ishfaq Ahmad Wani and Under Secretary, G. M. Bhat Nishati.
