KU organizes orientation programmes at Leh, Kargil

SRINAGAR, Sept 30: University of Kashmir, Srinagar organized one-day “orientation programme on Development & Utilization of e-Resources” for teachers and students of Degree College Kargil.
About 30 teachers and 60 students participated in each of these orientation programmes. The principals, teachers and the students of both the colleges liked the very idea of orientation programme and appreciated the efforts of EMMRC Srinagar for organizing such an important event in these far flung mountainous colleges of the State.
Dr Amina Qari Principal Govt Degree College Kargil in her presidential remarks stressed that such type of activity should be the regular feature in the college that will go a long way to help and sensitize teachers and students of these far-flung areas, where technology is just taking its roots.
Prof Suresh Kumar Sharma, Principal Govt Degree College Leh  in his presidential address, while appreciating the contribution of CEC and Media Centre, in terms of packaging of knowledge in various e-forms, stressed the need for creation of ICT infrastructure and providing proper internet connectivity in educational institutions in far flung areas of Ladakh.
Director EMMRC, University of Kashmir Dr Shahid Rasool, while underlining the aims and objectives of  the orientation programme stressed upon the teachers to reinvent their teaching pedagogy for making best use of Information and Communication Technology in the classroom.
Following advice of the Board of Management, EMMRC, University of Kashmir, Srinagar has planned to organize such type of orientation programmes in the Degree Colleges across the State. Besides the orientation programmes EMMRC team is also shooting some educational documentaries on various aspects of Ladakh.
