KPs protest against changing name of Hindu religious places

New Delhi, Mar 17 All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) Delhi Chapter along with various prominent KP organizations staged a dharna, at Jantar Mantar on Sunday against the discriminatory attitude of the J&K and Central Government towards Kashmiri Hindus by systematically denying them their rights and changing the nomenclature of the ancient Hindu religious places in Kashmir by turning a deaf ear to their pleas.
The activists of APMCC and other prominent organizations were protesting against the J&K Government for not passing the pending Temples and Shrines Bill and referring it to Joint Select Committees only to hoodwink the community as well as its failure to order a CBI probe into multicrore temple land encroachment going on in Kashmir Valley.
The protestors also asked the Government to come clean on the changing of names of various Hindu religious places in Kashmir like Kohi Maran for Hari Parbat Hill, and Takht-e-Suleman for Shankaracharya Hill  which was earlier known as Gopadri Hill.
The protestors said that despite the assurances of Government APMCC during its past agitation in Jammu in J&K and in Porbandar in Gujarat for the passage of Temple Bill and against the temple encroachments after which J&K Government had promised to intervene but nothing happened so far.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravinder Pandita, incharge Delhi Unit of APMCC said that the Government was hand in glove with the miscreants and the recent development.
Vinod Pandit, Chairman APMCC, King Bharati National spokesperson, Advocate Arun Kandroo, Gen Secy, while supporting the Delhi Unit said that Government must hear the pleas of the Kashmiri Hindus and issue an ordinance instead of waiting for passage of temple bill.
Prominent among those who attended the dharna include Shama Sondi, social activist, Dr Romesh Raina, Anil Dhar, Sunil Trakroo, Ravi Regu, Amit Raina, Ravinder Badam, Advocate Ramaneesh Sharma and others. All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), Chinar Art & Culture Trust, Srinagar,Ishwar Ashram Trust, Srinagar, Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch, Kashmiri Hindu Association, Rohini Kashmiri Migrant Welfare Association (KMWA), Noida, Kashmiri Pandits United Forum (KPUF), Kashmiri Pandit Welfare Association, Faridabad, Kashmiri Samiti, Delhi, Youth for Panun Kashmir, Kashmiri Sewak Samaj (KSS), Kashmir Visthapit Sangharsh Samiti, Kashmiri Welfare Association, Pratap Vihar, Koshur Milchar, Vasundhara, Koshur Samut, Ghaziabad, Koshur Sumchar, Kung Posh, Panun Kashmir, Roots in Kashmir, Shri Chand Chinar, Srinagar, Shri Sanatan Dharam Pratap Sabha etc.
