JAMMU, Mar 17: To protest against the huge power cuts, the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) took out a candle march in the Jagti township during Sunday evening which passed via various blocks of the township.
The march was led by the president JTC, Shadi Lal Pandita and camp inmates from various blocks of the township took part in it. Raising slogans against the authorities they were demanding improvement in power supply as the inmates of the township in general and student community in particular whose examinations are underway were facing many hardships due to increasing power cuts.
The protestors also demanded enhancement in cash relief in view of the hike in prices of essential commodities, renovation of quarters and settling the other demands.
Pandita also demanded that the construction of 40 bedded hospital in Jagti be completed immediately.
Sunil Dhar, Rajinder Dhar M L Akhoon, M L Pandita, S L Tickoo R L Bhat, M K Pandita, M K Bhat, C L Pandita and others participated in the protest.
