KPs pay glowing tributes to Brig Rajinder Singh

JAMMU, Oct 27:  Glowing tributes were paid to Brig Rajinder Singh who laid down his life to save the State of J&K from Pak invaders in 1947 by a group of Kashmiri Pandits including some journalists and senior citizens at Rajinder Pora the native village of this great hero of the country.
These people visited the village and paid their respects to this great warrior , gallant and fearless soldier of the country.
On the occasion Shiban Khebri a noted columnist threw light on the accession of the Sate with Indian Union and said had Brig Rajinder Singh not engaged the armed tribals and Pakistan Army with no reserve of men and ammunition for two days the State would have been snatched away by Pakistan.
S K Bhat, while lauding the bravery of Brig. Rajinder Singh said that such exemplary fight back is rarely seen. Even historians of Pakistan acknowledge the reckless bravery of this great Indian soldier who killed countless tribal infiltrators before completely destroying the vital Uri bridge to block their entry. The residents of Rajinder Singhpora welcomed the KPs who visit the village every year to pay tributes to this great soul.
