JAMMU, May 19: Various organizations of Kashmiri Pandits have expressed their anguish over the oft repeated statements of some separatist as well as main stream political parties opposing the separate township for Pandits in Valley and said that this reveals that these organizations are opposed to return and rehabilitation of this microscopic minority in Kashmir which is their homeland.
In a statement here today, relief holders representative Sunil Pandita, Jagti Welfare Association president, Vijay Kaul, Kashmiri Displaced United Council convener, Vinod Tickoo and Samajwadi Party Minority Forum president Inder Ji Labroo have said that under a big conspiracy both separatists and some main stream organizations are trying to sabotage the return of Pandits to Valley.
They urged the Government to go ahead with its plan of setting up a satellite township in Valley for permanent rehabilitation of displaced Pandits as separatists can’t make monopoly on this issue always and deny right of Kashmiri Pandits to be settled in their homeland of which they are the indigenous people.
The KP activists have said that Pandits have every right to return to their homeland and Hurriyat and other vested elements among some main stream political organizations can’t dictate terms in this regard anymore. They said the Government should show its will and authority in this regard and ensure the safe and dignified return of Pandits to their homeland as per their aspirations.
